Potash Production

The potash industry in Saskatchewan bring up the potash ore from up to 1200m underground. In order to separate the potash from other rock and dirt particles, the soft rock (similar to coal)  is crushed to very fine particles and kept wet to reduce dust and friction.  In the flotation mill, the small rock particles are separated from clay, dirt and other salts, because they have a different density than potash. The purified potash goes into fertilizer supply, and all other materials are waste which go to  tailings. The photo above shows the tailings hill of the Allan mine, 50km east of Saskatoon in Saskatchewan. CCC can supply frothers, and depressants. Interaction with the potash industry is a priority for us.  Potential volume of sales is very high because a mine producing 1million mT of potash anually requires around 50 - 200g of depressant per tonne, which may amount to a total of 100,000kg anually.
